I'm afraid I'm one of these people who literally writes as I think, sometimes even write before I think, so please bare with me.
Why have I decided to blog? I'm not too sure, it seems the thing to do when you have a passion.
Spreading the word about FITNESS and getting people excited and enthusiastic about exercise for the RIGHT reasons is a passion I have.
This has built over the last few years and continues to do so as I meet more and more people from different walks of life and learning their reasons for exercising.
I've always been interested in sport and have always tried to stay active. For me, being active has always been for fitness rather than weight related.
Once I'd had my 2 children I wanted to increase my activity levels and started running with the kids in a very dodgy and not so robust double buggy!
I then, with the encouragement of a friend joined a 'Mummy and child' class. From here I gained my Fitness and PT qualifications and started to spread my love for fitness.
All of this has gone from strength to strength and with the support and help from Lindsey at Shimmy n Groove I have gained many different qualifications and teach a variety of styles of class for her.
I am slowly but surely building my Personal Training business along side my classes which I love as I enjoy seeing the ladies (as I currently have no male clients) develop physically and mentally. Well done to you all.
The part I like the most about my 'job' is seeing people enjoy their workout, seeing friendships develop and watch peoples love for exercise grow.
There is a major part of the industry that I'm not a fan of and that is the stereotyping of what people 'should' look, or how people 'feel' they should look and how this is emphasised with the link there seems to be between exercise and dieting....these are 2 very different things, one in my eyes is a positive thing, the other, a negative.
I'm going to talk about this in more depth in my next post.
For now I'm going to end on a positive and say, if you are reading this, you must have an interest in fitness to some degree, so I say to you, get yourself out there and find something you can do, you enjoy and fits in well with you lifestyle.
Good luck, enjoy and keep moving.
